The Library can help you find suitable information resources for your patients, develop patient information leaflets and help you to develop your own information literacy skills. The Library & Knowledge Service purchases new books and e-books throughout the year to replace old editions, to fill in gaps in subject areas and in response to staff requests. The following subject areas have had a number of new books added to them in recent months: Cardiology; Emergency Medicine; Exams; Leadership and Management; Nursing. How do I borrow a book? Join the library (2nd floor, New Alderley House) and you can borrow up to 8 books at a time for 3 weeks. Want to find out what books the library holds? [from a Trust computer] We want to purchase the books that you need! Why not suggest a book that you think we should have in the library? Can't get to the library? We purchase e-books to make it easier for our remote workers and community staff to borrow a book. You will need an East Cheshire NHS Athens account to open the full-text of our e-books.
Our ebook collection is growing - over 500 titles are now available! Search or browse by subject and keyword. Fulltext access with your NHS Athens account.
When an essential book or journal article is not held by the library, we try our best to obtain it for you through our Inter-Library Loan (ILL) system. We request items on your behalf from other libraries in the North West and further afield, including The British Library.
