It is with great pleasure that we welcome the new intake of Junior Doctors to East Cheshire NHS Trust. Although you all should have had an induction to the library services it is a lot to remember in your first few weeks! Some of the services available to you are:
UpToDate – Accessible to all ECT staff. To access it for the first time, do so from a trust computer (via ZENworks) from there you can create an account and use it at home or on your phone. Athens – register for an Athens password and this will unlock all our resources. Do so with your NHS email address and it should be instant. With this you can access our e-journal platform (Browzine), e-books (via the catalogue) and our medical databases (HDAS). Evidence searching – “Knowledge is the enemy of disease” It is imperative that the decisions you make are ‘evidence based’. If you want to find evidence for something, request an evidence search or email Holly on [email protected] Training – We offer 1:1 training on all our resources, have a look at our training page. We are happy to come to you in the hospital or you are welcome to come to the library. Just contact a member of the library team on [email protected] or 01625 661362 Research support – The library can support your research project in many ways; getting you started by helping you frame a research question, undertaking a literature search or helping with critical appraisal and referencing. Contact Holly on 3398 or [email protected] Keep up to date – Let the latest research come to you! Have a look at the ‘keep up-to-date’ page on the library website and sign up to an update, bulletin or KnowledgeShare. For more information on any of the services or resources please email the Library or call 01625 661362.
