Multiprofessional Learner Forums
What is the monthly meeting?
- This hybrid meeting is a chance to meet either face-to-face or, virtually via Microsoft Teams, to ‘check-in’ and ensure you are receiving support
- Opportunity to discuss issues away from the placement area with learners from other disciplines/cohorts/universities, always mindful of confidentiality
- Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs) are on hand to help with any issues
- The meeting contributes to your placement time
- You can share your experiences good, or not so good and gain solutions to issues that a peer might be experiencing
- Great for peer support for example, information about meeting competencies and spoke placements, sharing difficulties you have overcome or, need help with
- Attendance certificates can be provided on request
Useful documents for placement
It is advisable that you contact your placement before your start date and ask for any pre-reading or bespoke welcome information and resources that may support you.
If you need any contact details for your forthcoming placement then please contact any of the PEF team below: For community placements, you will need an NHS.net email and Windows domain account. Having a Windows domain account means you can access PCs associated with East Cheshire NHS Trust, including Macclesfield District General Hospital (MDGH), the library drop-in PCs and community placements.

Raising concernsAll Trust policies that students need to know about are available via the Trust internet site - find them here. Health Education England (HEE) has information about raising and responding to concerns and the importance of speaking up about patient safety and responding effectively. You can find resources and related documents - find them here. Your view is respected and will be acknowledged and acted on. You should be able to raise any questions or concerns with your placement educator and not fear reprisals or negative feedback. Find the supporting and escalating concerns information found on PARE dashboard here. Please discuss with either your educator, nominated person at your placement, manager, PEF team or university before raising concerns. Please read the NMC Code of Conduct (2019), Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives, or HCPC Standards of Conduct Performance and Ethics. Freedom to Speak up Guardians (F2SU) for the Trust provide supports and signpost staff and students who wish to speak up. Learn more about freedom to speak up guardians here. For more information including a list of F2SU ambassadors in the Trust please refer to the information on the Trust intranet which is accessed using a Trust computer here. |
