Library resources

The Library has a wide range of textbooks covering all clinical specialties, plus a collection of exam revision books. We also have books on non-clinical subjects such as leadership, research, IT and more. All East Cheshire NHS Trust staff are able to join the library and borrow books. If you are unsure where to start please speak to a member of library staff and we will be happy to help you.​

UpToDate

UpToDate is an evidence-based decision support tool which is available to all Trust staff. It includes over 11,000 clinical topics, drug information, practice-changing updates and much more. Create your free personal login and collect CME/CPD points each time you use it. Access from work by clicking the UpToDate link in the Start Menu, or from anywhere with a personal login.

This resource has been developed by East Cheshire NHS Trust to address the language and communication needs of international health and care staff and their colleagues working in the UK.

There are a range of activities and explanations to help you develop appropriate language and communication skills for the health and care context.

Keep up-to-date
KnowledgeShare is our targeted current awareness service. Alerts are emailed out every fortnight. Your KnowledgeShare profile can be created to be as broad or specific as you need, and can be updated if your interests change.   It can include non-clinical topics such as leadership, management, coaching, and research, as well as clinical conditions.

CPD eLearning

  • UpToDate - earn CPD credits. Create your own UpToDate login via the UpToDate link in the Start menu on a trust PC.
  • BMJ Learning - create a BMJ portfolio to record and track your CPD.  Access with your NHS Athens account and create your personal BMJ Learning account.
  • eLearning for Healthcare - elearning modules, access online or via ESR.​
