Facilitating evidence-based decision making
BooksYou may borrow up to 12 items for 4 weeks. Most book loans are automatically renewed 5 times, unless reserved. Other items are renewable by phone, email or online.
Fiction and wellbeingThere is a collection of fiction books available for you to borrow. We welcome donations of recently published fiction. A Kindle is also available to borrow, pre-loaded with fiction e-books. We also have a Wellbeing collection, which includes all the 'Books on Prescription', other health stories and self-help books. |
Keep up-to-dateKnowledgeShare is our targeted current awareness service. We’ll let you know when we find high-impact publications in your area, including guidelines, policy and high-level research evidence.
Various email alerts, bulletins and updates are available to help you keep up-to-date in your subject area. More information is available on the 'Keep up to date' page. |
ComputersPCs are available for trust staff to drop-in and use 24/7. All have Microsoft Office, internet and ESR / e-learning. Printing, photocopying and scanning are available. There is accessibility equipment available for use in the library, including colour overlays, magnifier sheets, and alternative keyboards and mice. For help finding or using this equipment, ask a member of library staff. |
Study areasIndividual and group study areas are available in the Library. Study spaces have power sockets and/or PCs. Individual pods are available for Teams calls, which can be booked in advance through UBook or by asking a member of staff. |
Training
The library runs a number of different courses, which can be arranged for 1:1 or small group sessions. We can provide training in the library or come to your place of work. Contact the library for more information or to book a session. Current courses include:

- Social Media in the Workplace
- Basic IT Skills Support

We can also attend team meetings or training events to demonstrate resources, from a quick 5 minute demo to more advanced training.

How to find usWe are located in the LE&D Hub on the 1st floor of New Alderley House, on the Macclesfield District General Hospital site. Directions and maps can be found by clicking the map below. Parking information is available on the East Cheshire NHS Trust website.
