Quality patient information is essential to enable people to better manage their health and wellbeing, and to make fully informed decisions about their treatment and care. As the population increases, and the number of people living longer, with multiple long-term conditions grows the ‘health literacy’ of individuals becomes increasingly important. Everyone needs to be able to find, evaluate and use reliable sources of health information.
The Library can help you find suitable information resources for your patients, develop patient information leaflets and help you to develop your own information literacy skills.
