General Data Protection Regulation
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into effect on the 25th May 2018. It requires all organisation who hold personal information to provide more transparency on what information they hold, what they will use the information for, who they will share the information with, and how you can amend/delete information they hold. The Library and Knowledge Service therefore requires all library members to agree to opt-in to the following statements in order for us to continue to supply a range of library services to you. If you do not opt-in we will delete your information from our systems and you will need to re-register in order to use the library in the future. Using your personal information
We are committed to safeguarding your information. The information you supply with be used to contact you about services or resources you have requested from the Library and Knowledge Service (LKS).
Sharing your personal information
We will share your information with the organisations that supply and manage our library management systems. We may share your information with another NHS Library, or our own Finance Department, if you leave this organisation and have outstanding debts or loans.
Accessing your personal information
You can request to see what data we hold on you, and request changes to the data, by emailing [email protected].
Deleting your personal information
We will delete the data we hold on you after a maximum 5 year period of inactivity (in case you return to use NHS library and knowledge services again within this time).
